There are a number of different ways to market your services. One way would be to enlist the services of an agent. This is great if your new agent works actively in supplying voice talents to the industry. Many acting agents have a roster of voice talents but you will need to be sure they are a regular point of contact for the voice seekers.

The other option is to market yourself. You can do this quite successfully these days thanks to a number of voice casting services on the internet. But before you go and sign up to ever single one that you come across and especially if they are asking for money be sure that it is a wise investment. Don’t be afraid to contact other voice talents and ask them about which sites they have had success with.

Voices www.voices.com and Voice123 www.voice123.com are two sites that are extremely popular for voice talents and voice seekers worldwide.

Your website

This is probably the most important marketing tool a voice artist could have… but it needs to be good.

The first thing you should consider is your domain name. I would suggest using your own name if it’s straight forward. If you are like me and have a name that begs to be entered incorrectly then look for a name that reflects your business, I use www.theimagingvoice.com.

Once you have your domain name sorted then you need to develop your website. If you have minimal web developing ability then look at enlisting a web designer to set it up for you. Keep it simple and attractive and make your demo’s available on the front page.

Most professional voice talents have a website so take the time to surf the net and research other websites.

Remember that once you have a fantastic new website you need to make sure it is found, so make sure it is search engine friendly. There is also some paid internet marketing that should be considered.
